Green Building & Energy Efficient Homes

As an environmentally conscious company, Creative Constructions of Ithaca strives to build lightly on the land. "We always do our best to reduce, reuse, and recycle throughout the building process..." says Kerrie and Rob, and they add that they definitely lean toward building homes with smaller "ecofootprints". Along with building in a way that reduces the impact on the environment, they are committed to creating homes that are energy efficient and affordable to own and live in.

Although there are a many factors in creating energy efficient homes, Rob and Kerrie often start with an efficiently designed home by Rod Lambert utilizing Structural Insulated Panels or (SIPs). These unique building panels are very strong, easy to work with, and provide superior insulation performance when compared to traditional stick built walls.

Creative Constriction partners with the ENERGY STAR program to build homes that are independently certified as ENERGY STAR LABELED homes. These homes offer superior comfort, improved indoor air quality, higher resale value, and lower utility bills.

Rob and Kerrie find that many clients are interested in using some degree of local, salvaged, or recycled materials in their project. From locally grown and milled lumber to reclaimed architectural elements and blown cellulose (recycled news paper insulation), Creative Constructions offers clients many ways to make their building more environmentally sound and comfortable to live in. They can also assist you in with photovoltaic systems, living/green roofs and other green building options.
